Frequently Asked Questions

Question 1

How do I know if my roof needs repairing or replacing?

Accepted Answer

If your roof is under 20 years old and the damage is localised — a few missing tiles, a small leak, or cracked flashing — a repair is usually sufficient. If the roof is older, has widespread damage, or is losing tiles regularly, a full replacement is often more cost-effective in the long run. We offer free drone surveys to give you an honest assessment.

Question 2

How much does a roof repair cost?

Accepted Answer

Minor repairs such as replacing a few tiles or resealing flashing typically start from £150–£300. Larger repairs involving ridge tiles, valleys, or lead work can range from £300–£1,500+. A full re-roof depends on the size and pitch of the roof. We always provide a free, no-obligation quote before any work begins.

Question 3

Do you offer emergency call-outs for storm damage?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we offer emergency roofing call-outs 7 days a week. If you've suffered storm damage, a sudden leak, or lost tiles, call us on 07742 645753 and we'll get someone out to you as quickly as possible to make the roof safe and weatherproof.

Question 4

Are you fully qualified and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We hold NVQ Level 3 in Roof Tiling and Slating, are registered with CORC (the Confederation of Roofing Contractors), and are fully insured with public liability cover. You can verify our credentials on Checkatrade and Trustatrader.

Question 5

What areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

We cover Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and South Cumbria. Our base is in Northenden so we're well placed for all of South Manchester, Stockport, Altrincham, Sale, Salford, and surrounding areas. We also travel to Cheshire towns including Wilmslow, Macclesfield, and Knutsford.

Question 6

How long does a roof repair take?

Accepted Answer

Most minor repairs can be completed in a single day. Larger jobs such as ridge tile replacement or valley repairs typically take 1–2 days. A full re-roof on a standard semi-detached house usually takes 3–5 days depending on the weather and complexity.

Question 7

Do you provide a guarantee on your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes — all our roofing work comes with a written workmanship guarantee. The length of the guarantee depends on the type of work carried out. We'll always confirm the guarantee period in your written quote.

Question 8

Can I see photos of your previous work?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You can view our completed jobs on our gallery page, and we have hundreds of reviews with photos on Google, Checkatrade, and Trustatrader. We're proud of every job we do and are happy to share references from local customers.

Question 9

What is a drone roof survey?

Accepted Answer

A drone survey uses a professional DJI drone to capture high-resolution aerial photos and video of your roof without the need for scaffolding. It's ideal for identifying hidden damage, checking chimney stacks, valleys, and flat roof sections safely. We provide a full written report with photos. It's free when combined with a quote.

Question 10

Do I need scaffolding for a roof repair?

Accepted Answer

Not always. For minor repairs on single-storey roofs or accessible pitches, we can often work safely from ladders. For larger jobs, two-storey properties, or work near the ridge, scaffolding is required for safety. We'll advise you on this when we provide your quote.
